Friend or Foe

Friend or Foe?

Judith Miller the self proclaimed martyr of the first amendment and the darling child of the press, but is she as her attorney portrays her; a champion of free speech? Well that would be a resounding NO, nadda, no way. In fact is sitting in jail right now to avoid doing one of two things, if not both; trying to keep her own backside from serving a real prison sentence for leaking the name of an active CIA operative, or keeping her mouth shut in order to protect someone in the White House from serving time in prison.

In case any of you folks missed it, Judith Miller was one of the media’s biggest proponents of the invasion of Iraq, something she pursued with a rabid conviction as though Saddam were some childhood baby sitter who used to make her chipped beef on toast. She often quoted from her anonymous source now known to all of us as the wonder Mr. Ahmed Chalabi, the man wanted for banking fraud in the nation of Jordan, the man not trusted by our own government for “questionable” accounting practices as a member of the Iraqi National Congress and a man accused of being a spy for of all places, Iran.

Now this makes us wonder what kind of deal was cut by Robert Novak, because unlike Judith Miller, he did go public with his story which by all accounts reeks of a cheap trick to discredit Valerie Plame’s husband, Ambassador Joe Wilson. So is Judith Miller sitting in jail to keep herself out of prison or is she sitting in jail to keep favor as the White House to remain their propagandist? We shall see.

Flip.
